Ariana Grande was in Singapore for the international premiere of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of the actress are calling for that a man who breached a barrier and touched the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared clip depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet flanked by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the gathering by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Record of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains recordings of him disturbing other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"There needs to be action applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Followers Voice Worry Over Ariana's Safety

Many followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said one more response on Instagram.

A number of fans also faulted event staff at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while some called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In footage shared widely, Grande seemed surprised when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Numerous of supporters had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore mall, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The film, to be premiered on November 21, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the well-known theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two very different witches.

The production itself is a adaptation of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were alongside co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of last year in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, securing two for outstanding attire and set decoration.
