Los Angeles witnessed widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.

Celebration Parade Draws Massive Turnout

Los Angeles area events featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.

Online footage depict countless of Los Angeles residents flooding downtown streets, many displaying handmade banners and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the field.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Celebrations started well before the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the streets of the city center on the previous evening.

The World Series MVP, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke plainly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

Varied Responses and City Unity

In contrast, the team owner received a cooler welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his address.

The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater enthusiasm.

“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
