The NRL's administration has declared that athletes who join the “rebel” R360 league will be barred for 10 years.

R360, scheduled to begin in October 2026, is seeking to lure rugby union and rugby league players with substantial agreements and a slimmed-down fixture list.

Prominent rugby league players have allegedly been contacted by the new league, which will feature six to eight men's sides and four women's sides operating from large metropolitan areas worldwide.

Samoa's the rugby star, who plays for his NRL club in the league, has stated he has had negotiations involving the new organization.

Ryan Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Payne Haas and Gray are also said to be weighing up offers from the rebel league.

A group of union teams, such as Australia, last week announced a restriction on R360 recruits participating in global fixtures.

“We have consulted our franchises and we've responded strongly,” stated ARLC head the official.

“Unfortunately, there will continually be organizations that seek to pirate our game for monetary profit.

“They fail to contribute in development systems or the development of players. They only leverage the efforts of others, jeopardizing careers of monetary damage while benefiting financially.

“In truth, they represent, imitating the sport.”

The league is co-founded by ex-England star Mike Tindall and supported by private investors.

After the prospective union bans were announced earlier, it stated: “We want to work together as part of the worldwide fixture list.

“The series is structured with tailored timetables for male and female sides and we will release all players for international matches, as specified in their agreements.”

R360 will request authorization for its initiatives from the international authority, rugby union's administrative organization, at its board session next year.
