Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
